One of the main aims of the Active Schools programme is to provide after school clubs in schools.
In the Rosshall Learning Community I work with the five Primary Schools and three ASL schools plus Rosshall Academy to provide a variety of clubs for all ages.
This term January to April 2016 we have a good mixture of clubs for all ages.

Some of the clubs stand on their own and encourage children to be more active and healthy. Utd Sports provide coaches for a number of these clubs in the Rosshall LC. Here is a photo taken on Wednesday 20th January 2016 at Craigton PS. This is a Fun & Fitness Club for P3.
Other clubs we organise lead to an event and the clubs help prepare the children for that event.
This term we have three clubs that are leading to events.
Dance for P4-5
GHA (Glasgow Housing Association) very kindly sponsor this programme. We have nine schools involved and Ultimate Arts provide dance coaches who take a 6 week after school club. The coach works with the boys and girls on a routine which they will then showcase to their parents at our Dance Mania Event on Tuesday 8th March 2016 at Govan High School. All the children are given a special t-shirt for the event.

Athletics for P7
We work very closely with Clyde College (Cardonald Campus) in the South West of Glasgow. We have a programme on a Thursday afternoon where the students take a curriculum session from 2-3pm and then an after school club from 3-4pm. This block from January to February 2016 the students will be taking an Athletics Club to help select and prepare a team of 6 boys and 6 girls to represent their school at our indoor Athletics event at the Emirates Arena on Wednesday 16th March 2016.
We have run this event over the last 4 years as an outdoor event in the summer but this year we are doing it as an indoor event. The event has been expanded to include all the areas of Glasgow so we will have 6 heats (North West x 2, North East x 2 and South x 2). The top 3 schools will then go through to a grand final on Wednesday 30th March 2016.

Netball P6-7
The final event for this term is a Netball Tournament which will be held at Rosshall Academy on Thursday 17th March 2016. There will be clubs run by coaches from Utd Sports who will help prepare the children for the event.
