Knife crime at all time low

Knife carrying in Glasgow is at an all-time low thanks to the Strathclyde police department in Glasgow. They have managed to drop the crime rate connected to carrying a knife bellow 780 people caught carrying a knife compared to last years amount of 1108. As of now the Strathclyde police department are trying hard to have a minimum of crime rate connected to carrying a blade or sharp weapon. The maximum penalty for carrying a knife is 4 to 5 years in jail. A Scottish spokesman said ‘Scotland is getting safer. Violent crime  in Scotland is at is at its lowest level  for 30 years and crimes involving offensive weapons, including knifes, are at their lowest level in 18 years .’’ ‘Our strategy is tough enforcement – backed by 1000 extra police officers on our streets – and education helped reduce knife crime in recent years.’’
