P2/3 had a visit from the police. Emma and Harry came in to talk about firework safety. They told us how to stay safe when going to firework displays and what can happen if you are not safe around fireworks.
There have been a lot of reports locally of fireworks being set off in an unsafe manner and being set off by young teenagers. The police officers told us today that you have to be 18 to buy fireworks.
Please highlight the importance of firework safety to all of your children and stay safe.

Blackberry jam
we picked wild blackberries In the school garden to make jam. Mrs Dunnet took the berries home to make the jam on her cooker. Here is the recipe :
- wash blackberries
- weigh the blackberries and then weigh the same amount of preserving jam
- mix the berries and jam in a big pot
- squeeze in the juice of one lemon – it’s ok if the pips go in as this helps the jam to set
- put the heat on low and stir until the sugary is runny
- once the sugar is runny, turn the heat up high
- when the mixture starts to boil, turn the heat down to the lowest setting and continue to stir for around 15 minutes
- mash the mixture up to remove most of the lumps
- use a ladle to pour the jam mixture into clean, cold jars
- put into the fridge an enjoy when cold/set
please do not allow children to make jam by themselves as the mixture becomes extremely hot and will stick to the skin

Lost jacket
Hi, could everyone check that they have taken the correct jacket home with them over the last couple of days. Someone in class is missing a black winter jacket.
Also could I ask that all belongings such as water bottles, jumpers and jackets have children’s names on them please.
Thanks 😊
Thanks to everyone who took part in crazy hair day and donated money to a very worthy cause 😊
