Modern studies 💜🌍

Good morning 💜

Todays task is a modern studies task. Thank you to all of you who emailed me your answers to the previous modern studies tasks, they were brilliant, well done.

Todays task you are going to use your iPad to research  articles and video clips. You are going to compare Scotland and England and look at how they are easing lockdown measures.  The first task is involves you researching each country. The second task involves you comparing them. Have a go at this task and email me if you have any questions or want to send me your completed work.

For the venn  diagram, my circles are not even. The idea of this is that you make the circles even. The parts of the circle which overlap would be what Scotland and England have in common. The rest of the circles you use to state what Scotland have done to ease lockdown measure and what England have done. Any questions then just email me 🤗

Wednesday 13th May

Morning P7! Hope we are all well.  What have you all been up to? I would love if you could comment on the blog today and let me know how you are doing and what you have been up to. Remember you can send me pictures of what you have been up to and I will share with the class on Fridays blog.

Riddle- what goes up but doesn’t come back down?

Maths

Today I thought I would post some questions about profit and loss. Just like last weeks word problems you have to select the correct operation to successfully answer the question. Have a go and let me know how you get on.

I also thought I would post a word search for you to try. This word search is all about school. Let me know if you liked doing this task and I can post more word searches as the weeks go on. Enjoy

Missing you all!

Good morning P7, how are we all?
Todays task is a guided reading. This task is based on different articles, however they all have one thing in common, positive news. Positive news is something we don’t really here often enough, especially with what is going on in today’s world. Reading positive news boost your mood and makes you forget about what is going on in the world. Have a go reading each article then answering  the questions. Also, you can go onto the upper school (p4-7) YouTube channel and see Miss Cohen reading the text and questions for you.

Here are your questions

You can email me your answers to gw19odonnelllauren1@glow.sch.uk

Have a nice day, missing you all!

The pictures can be of anything, for example, playing in the house, helping somebody in the house, cooking, a dance you have made up, anything. Azeem, Aliza and Zoha have all emailed me pictures so today’s blog features the three of them

Azeem completed a difficult jigsaw. Well done Azeem!

Aliza made kebabs for her family👍

Zoha made samosas for her family👍

Well done Azeem on completing your jigsaw and well done girls, your food pictures have made me hungry!

The teachers of St Alberts have made a video showing you all what we have been getting up to during this strange time. We have all decided to keep active and get outside. If you go to the YouTube channel you can see the lovely places we have found.

stay safe

Guided reading and Maths

Good morning🤗 thank you to those of you who have emailed me your work or pictures of you completing an activity. I will post your pictures on Fridays blog.

Guided reading

This weeks  guided reading is from a book called Holes by Louis Sachar. The themes of the book are consequences, punishment, justice and friendship. Miss Webster has read the chapter and the questions for you on our YouTube channel. This will help you with the understanding of the questions and the text. Remember and try this task independently, however, if you are stuck you can ask someone in the house.

Monday 4th May

Good afternoon p7, I hope you are all well and ready for a new week. I loved reading all about your chocolate inventions, ohhh makes me hungry just thinking about some of them!

Today’s  task will focus on modern studies and maths

modern studies

In today’s world, especially in recent times, we hear news reports that are untrue. This is called fake news. Many of you know about this as we have spoke about it in class before. However, I thought we could try this task that Miss Cohen has made. Give it a go and email me your answers or post them on the blog☺

Maths
Today  I thought I would post some addition and subtraction questions. You do not have to do all the questions, it’s just a little reminder of how to do them. Remember you have your learning packs which cover a range of different maths skills. So you can go between maths in the blog and maths in the pack.

missing you all loads

Miss O’Donnell🤗

Happy Friday🤗

It was lovely to see some of you yesterday when I  delivered the learning packs. I am delivering some more today so hopefully I will get to see more of you!

todays tasks include modern studies and art.

Task one

Today I am going to post lesson two of our topic. It was great that so many of you emailed me your work on yesterday’s first lesson. I love seeing how you are getting on, especially with this new topic.

Art task

Over the last couple of weeks I have ate soooooo much chocolate. It got me thinking, if I could design a sweet treat what would it look like, would it be a chocolate bar?a bag of sweets? or even a cake of some sort? So I thought you might like to design and create your own sweet treat. You can use the template below or draw, or write a paragraph about your sweet treat. You can email me a picture of your drawing or email me your description.

Missing you all loads!

Miss O’Donnell 🤗
