it is another lovely summers day today, so why not get out in the sun, go a walk with the family or play with your siblings.
I have been thinking about what St Alberts means to me and how it all means something different to everyone. Your task is to record a short video clip telling me what st Alberts means to you. This could include things you will miss about st Alberts as you move onto secondary school. Email me your completed video and I will put them altogether to make one big video.
Today I would like you to create your own front cover of a book. You will have to give your book a name and design the front cover. How are you going to design the front cover? Is it going to be bright and colourful? Or dark and mysterious? You can share the name of the book with everyone in the commentS. You could complete this task on paper or on your iPad, it’s completely up to you. I would love if you could email me your finished front cover. I can then share your work with the class on tomorrow’s blog. Remember, you can email be pictures of your work and what you have been getting up to.
Maths
I thought we would revise over time and world problems. Remember to look at the clocks closely to write down the correct minute. Additionally, when reading the word problems, look for key words which suggest which operation to use, for example, how many altogether, suggests addition. Have a go at each worksheet and let me know how you get on.
maths fun- I thought I would post a maths crossword for you to try. Have a go and let me know how you got on.
Today I thought you could create a story, I will write the first sentence and I would like to you to finish it. Be as creative as you want. Email me your finished story or post it in the comments.
The air turned black around me, icy fingers grabbed my arm……
Microsoft teams
Loads of you have been asking if we can meet using zoom, I thought we could try Microsoft teams instead. I will post your email in the pictures below. Everyone’s password is stalberts123.
Can you please download the Microsoft Teams app from the Self Servicentre on your iPad- this is a bit like the App Store!
Once you are into Microsoft Teams you should be a part of Team P7 automatically. If this works for you you should be able to send me messages.
Can you try to do this today and let me know if there are any problems? I will look into the children who do not have a glow email. We want to try and get this app up and running so we can use it to all chat together and use it for online teaching
I hope you all had a lovely day celebrating Eid with your family. I know it was an unusual day for you all but I bet you enjoyed celebrating with your family. What did you get up to? I would love to see pictures from the day.
Today I was in the school, it was so different without you all being there. So for today’s blog, I thought I would post flashbacks to some of the fun we had as a class. Looking at these pictures makes me sad because we cannot all be together, but hopefully soon we will be reunited.
I hope you are all well. It is brilliant to see so many of you commenting on the blogs. As another way of communicating with each other, I thought we could try Microsoft teams. This is an app that we could possibly use to chat to each other on. If you go onto p6\7 blog, Miss McCue has posted a video on how to use Microsoft teams. Let me know what you think of this and we could get it set up for our class.
Thank you to those of you who have emailed me your work. It has been lovely to see what you have been getting up to. This week Azeem has been practicing his times tables, and Aliza and Tahira have been drawing beautiful pictures.
Today I thought i would post some art activities. Why not try some of these and let me know how you get on.
I thought I would upload a three word searches today. One Is based on names that you will recognise. The others are based on you all. I have used all your names to create a word search, I have made a boys word search and a girls word search Have a go and let me know how you get on👍

Writing
I thought I would post a story starter. I would like you to write a short story with my sentence being the first sentence of your story. I have had great response from other short stories you have written, so I am looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.
story starter – Footsteps slowly creaked on every step of the stairs. The bedroom door handle turned slowly.
This weeks guided reading is based on health and well-being . Our health and well-being is extremely important to us, especially during this strange time. I will post the text and questions below. Miss McCue has also recorded herself on the YouTube channel, so if you would like the text read to you or help with the questions then the YouTube channel will help you. Let me know how you get on with this guided reading.
Good morning, hope we are all well and had a lovely relaxing weekend. Today’s task are based on modern studies and maths.
Modern studies
Todays task is a research task. For this task you have to use your IPad to fill in the blanks in the table below about how other countries are managing the Coronavirus pandemic, and how they are lifting lockdown measures to allow society to return to normal. Have a go and send your answers to my email – gw19odonnelllauren1@glow.sch.uk
Maths Todays maths focuses on multiplication. The first task is the table square. We completed this in class many times , so I thought you could practice it in your house and send me your scores. Also, I thought we could revise over multiplication of one and two digit numbers. Multiplying by one number is something that we are use to. As we progressed through primary 7, we looked at multiplying by a two digit number. We called this long multiplication. I am going to post a mixture of both questions. If you can remember how to multiply by a two digit number can you send me an email answering the first question on the sheet. Have a go selecting questions from both worksheets.
Lastly, can you leave a comment on the blog once you have read it, even just comment your name. Thanks
Just like that it’s is Friday again! Does anybody else think the weeks are flying in?!
Todays tasks are two fun activities. The first one is a YouTube link. The video is about how to make an Eid card. It looks fun! You could change how it is decorated. If you manage to make a card, send me a picture of it. I would love to see them! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU5qf7bZzlU
The second activity is a word search, this time it is about farm animals 🐖🐂🐄
I would also love to share some pictures that Aliza emailed me. Aliza has been very busy making cake and pizza! Well done Aliza👍
Remember you can email me pictures of anything you have been up to.
Lastly, I want to share a picture with you all. I went a walk a couple of nights ago and managed to catch a picture of a pink sky! How amazing does that look😮
Stay safe, missing you all loads!!
Miss O’Donnell 🤗
