We were making an alphabet arc this week to use in spelling to help us learn our spelling words. Some of us still find the order of the alphabet tricky and you can practise this at home by listening to the alphabet song.

In maths this week we started a new topic on time. We recorded our ides on a mind map about what time is. We have started with learning about the order of the days, months and seasons. These 2 games to practise days and months were fun and can be used at home to help learn the order of the days and months.

In our Romans topic this week we learned about timelines and how these work. First we made a timeline about Isaac’s life as an example of how a timeline shows key events over a period of history, recent or long ago in the past. We heard about some key events in the Roman Empire and how Scotland were very hard for the romans to conquer.

 

We had out first PATHS lesson in class this week and learned about compliments and sorted them into categories about they way a person looks, the things they have, the things they can do and the way they are. Mariam was picked as our first pupil of the week who will be getting lots of compliments that she can take home next Wednesday.

 

Special mention this week for Isaac who  has started turning his walking frame all by himself. What a great achievement!
