Homework 10.06.19

This is the last Homework of P4/5!

Can you use this week and next week to write a report on an inspirational person in your life? If you are a Full stop, you can create a poster with as much as this information as possible.

Think about including the following information in your report:

  • Name
  • Age/Date of Birth
  • If dead, when did they die?
  • Where they were born/grew up
  • Where do they live now? (If still alive)
  • Where did they go to school?
  • If famous, what are they famous for?
  • List some of their greatest achievements
  • Any interesting you may be able to find out about them? (This does not have to be linked to what they are famous for.)
  • How do you hope to be like them?
  • How do they inspire you?
  • How have they impacted your life?

If the person is someone you know, you could have an interview with them to find out some of this information too. Think about using some of the questions above to help you with your interview.

Make sure you also include pictures in your report and you also have basic punctuation, layout and structure to your writing. Also, if you are quoting from an interview, or writing down something a person has said word for word, make sure you use speech marks.

This homework should be handed in no later than the 21st of June.

Good Luck and have fun!

Our trip to Bills By Hikmah Aslam

Yesterday  our class went to Bills Restaurant  in Town on West Nile Street. On our journey, we walked  to Shields Road Underground. We then lined up against the wall  while Mrs McCafferty bought the tickets. After that, we went to go wait for the train on the stairs. It came after a few minutes. We suddenly felt so cold  after we came off the train. We  went past three stops then it was our stop at Buchanan Street.

After that,  we walked the rest of the way to Bills.   We  went to a small room where we met Kate.  She helped  us make the pancakes. We put on aprons and hats for our  safety.

After that, we made the pancakes. Kate then put them on the stove  while we drew and designed our own pancake creation. At the end, we had a quiz then went back to school.

The end hope you enjoyed the story about  our trip. Please go to Bills, it is a nice restaurant in town .

Personification Work 1.5.19

P4/5 have been working this morning on creating personifications to make their writing better.

A personification is when you bring an object to life. Here are some examples:

Maryam, Fatimah, Hikmah and Aliyan: The warm, soft sofa is calling my name to come and sleep on her.

Safa, Eshal and Fraser: The cup screamed when the girl went to take a sip.

Ahmed and Fahad: The car galloped across the city.

Hassan, Jalal and Danial: The swing danced along with he music.

Umarah, Navleen, Idris and Yusuf: The table struggled to hold the King and Queen’s banquet.

Sadeem, Azaan and Hussain: Th bin was hungry for rubbish.

Some of the Full stops were doing similes:

Sadeem, Azaan and Hussain: The pencil is as sharp as a thorn.

Antony and Bashayer: The car was as fast as a lion.
