\nParent Council Halloween Disco<\/p>\n

Thursday 31st October
\nHalloween Costume and Craft \u2013 P1-7 children should come to school in uniform but are welcome to bring a simple costume to change into after lunch for Halloween craft and activities. Nursery children can wear uniform all day.<\/p>\n

Friday 1st November
\nTempest Photographer will take individual and sibling photos. If you would like a photo with a different group (e.g. a group of cousins) please contact the school office. As long as you have given
\npermission for photos, all children will have their photo taken unless you contact the school office to opt them out. Pre-school siblings can be brought to school at 8.30 to have them included in a photo
\nwith your nursery\/school age children. We can\u2019t accommodate secondary ages siblings. There is no obligation to buy.<\/p>\n

Friday 15th November
\nInset Day \u2013 School Closed to pupils for staff development<\/p>\n

Thursday 21st November
\nNewport Festival evening junior choir (all P3 and 4 children) will be invited to come and sing in the evening – more details will follow.<\/p>\n

Panto – Nursery and P1-7 Pupils<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following the success of last year’s in school performance, we have booked M&M to come and perform Snow White in the school hall for all pupils. We are asking for a donation of \u00a36 per child towards the cost of hiring M&M. Please pay for your child when you are able by using the ipayimpact fund called ‘M&M Panto’ – the fund will stay open until the date of the performance (17th December)<\/p>\n

Safety at School<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children should not wear hooped or dangling earrings or acrylic\/false nails to school. They are not practical or safe for activities during school time. We also discourage make up of any sort for primary aged children and would ask parents to support us in that and encourage your child to save make up for special occasions. Though we don’t draw attention to older children wearing a little bit of discrete make up or nail polish.<\/p>\n

Newport-on-News in conjunction with The Newport Podcast and The Rio are looking for entries to our Newport Poetry Competition and we wondered if the children at school would like to take part.\u00a0 I have attached a poster for your information. <\/span>It can be in any form, long or short, a sonnet or a limerick.\u00a0 If we get more than 20 entries, we will publish them in a special book.\u00a0 We will also read them out on the podcast (or you can read your own) and have a special evening at The Rio where we can read them out.<\/p>\n

All ages and prizes will be given out.<\/p>\n

It just has to have a connection to Newport or Wormit<\/p>\n

Are there any budding horse riders out there?<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of our P6 pupils is having good success in show jumping. His mother is going to sign him up British Show Jumping ‘Just for Schools’ league and he will compete as an individual for our school. If there any other pupils with a similar interest and talent, it may be possible for the parents to get together to form a team. If your child is a rider and you are interested, please contact me at lucy.jess@fife.gov.uk<\/a>. This is not a school organised event, it would be an arrangement between parents but entering the Just for Schools league opens up opportunities and I am delighted to see the school represented.<\/p>\n
