{"id":540,"date":"2022-02-12T18:28:02","date_gmt":"2022-02-12T18:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/wormitprimaryschool\/?page_id=540"},"modified":"2022-02-16T19:13:32","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T19:13:32","slug":"numeracy-home-learning-activities-for-p5-6-and-7","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/wormitprimaryschool\/family-learning\/numeracy-learning-in-school\/numeracy-home-learning-activities-for-p5-6-and-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Numeracy Home Learning Activities for P5, 6 and 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you have to be learning at home for any length of time, here are a number of options for you use to help you with your numeracy and maths learning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice makes perfect<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We all have <strong>Sumdog<\/strong> logins and you can use this to really brush up on your maths skills.\u00a0 Practise the calculations you have been working on at school; try to learn a new times table; work on topics like shape and angles, if you have been doing them in school.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mix and match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/corbettmathsprimary.com\/5-a-day\/\">Corbett Maths Primary<\/a> pages have good 5 a day challenges, and you can mark them as there are answers available too.\u00a0 It is best to choose a day, start with bronze and then move on through the levels (silver, gold, platinum) to find the one which gives you a comfortable challenge.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry if there are some topics you haven\u2019t covered yet or can&#8217;t remember what to do &#8211;\u00a0 you can move on past those.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Problem solving<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the best things you can do for maths is problem solving.\u00a0 The NRich website is fantastic for this.\u00a0 It is packed full of problems and suggestions for where to get started, plus you can send your solutions in to the team and you might get your answer published on their website.\u00a0 Start here and pick your first challenge: <a href=\"https:\/\/nrich.maths.org\/primary\">NRich<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not sure where to start, there are games here: <a href=\"https:\/\/nrich.maths.org\/9086\">https:\/\/nrich.maths.org\/9086<\/a><\/p>\n<p>These Practice Makes Perfect challenges are also a good place to start: <a href=\"https:\/\/nrich.maths.org\/9171\">https:\/\/nrich.maths.org\/9171<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific for P5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I see Maths<\/strong> have a number of challenges in different topic areas which can help you think about maths in different ways.
