The class teacher has overall responsibility for meeting their pupils’ needs but they work with Mrs Jess, Mr Rose, our Pupil Support Assistants, our Additionality Teachers and our Support for Learning teacher to make sure they have the best strategies and support in place to help pupils thrive.

If your child works with a Pupil Support Assistant, an Additional Support Teacher or our Support for Learning teacher, it doesn’t mean there is anything to worry about. We all work as a team to meet the needs of the children and the majority of support is Universal (which means it is support given to all children). If your child requires additional support assessments or observations, we will contact you about this. Equally if you have any concerns about your child’s learning or wellbeing, you should contact Mrs Jess in the first instance.

We make good use of Lego Club and Kitbag. Lego Club is an approach which supports children’s listening and talking and social development and teamwork. Kitbag is an approach that helps children to discuss and reflect upon their emotions. Lego Club and Kitbag are part of our Universal Support and lots of children benefit from taking part in these activities at school.

You can find more information on Kitbag and its applications here.

A lot of children find the Kitbag Music very soothing.
