School

Welcome to our school.

Valley Primary School was opened in 1952 and was the first school built in Kirkcaldy after the Second World War.   There have been many improvements made to the building, inside and out, over the last 4 years.

The main entrance can be accessed from Valley Gardens or from Cheviot Road.   The Car Park can only be used by the staff and authorised vehicles.

The classrooms are on two levels in the main building with a corridor to the single floor Early Years department.   We also have the VENUS and STARGAZE nurture rooms catering for a wide variety of social and emotional needs in our mainstream pupils. Our 3 and 4 year old provision is in the nursery building situated at the back of the school.  We now have an Under 3 provision which is in a modular accommodation unit situated in the main playground.  There is an Assembly Hall with a fully equipped stage, a separate PE Hall and our self-contained kitchen is attached to the main building.

We have 2 Additional Support Classes (ASC) within the main building which cater for the needs of Kirkcaldy learners with moderate and severe learning difficulties.  Applications for a placement in our ASC must be submitted through the Area Management Group (AMG).

There is generous grass and tarmac playing areas around the building which is used during interval and lunch breaks, as part of our PE curriculum and fun activities.  We are currently in the process of enhancing our playground to promote and develop positive relationships.

Visit our class pages from the drop down bar to find out about all the fantastic learning taking place!

Be the best we can be! #teamvalley
