At Valley PS, we have a special group of young leaders who play a vital role within our school. These pupils are our Junior Leaders.

 

The Active Schools Junior Leader programme has been used by Valley PS to provide an opportunity for pupils to undertake a purposeful leadership role in school. The programme is structured around a recruitment process involving applications and interviews. Successful candidates then take part a training programme that focusses on gaining and developing the relevant skills and qualities needed to undertake this role-leadership, planning, communication etc.

Valley PS Junior Leaders take on the following roles in our School;

• Create and produce an action plan detailing their yearly plan for the school
• Deliver playground activities at lunch times
• Help deliver our Extra-Curricular programme at lunchtime and after school clubs
• Deliver their own Extra-Curricular clubs
• Promote our Extra-Curricular programme
• Help organise and run whole school events such as Sports Relief and Sports Day
• Aid in the planning and delivery of the recruitment of the team for the following year
• Ensure all Valley PS pupils are aware of and demonstrating the Valley Sporting Values
