The Transforming Learning Fife programme provides an iPad to enhance and enrich the learning experience for children and young people in Fife. With the introduction of any technology, it is crucial that we emphasise the importance of responsible use and proper care.
In the event of accidental damage to an iPad, families will be asked for a contribution towards repair costs. These costs can vary depending on the severity of the damage and the specific repairs required. Should that iPad be beyond reasonable repair or be lost, then a contribution towards full replacement will be charged. These costs and repairs are consistent across all schools and outlined in a table below.
These are estimated costs and are to be confirmed:
Item | Contribution 1st Repair | Contribution 2nd Repair |
Damage to screen | £70 | £150 |
Damaged charge port | £65 | £140 |
Lost or device beyond repair | £150 | £200 |
These costs are subject to future change based on the costs to Fife Council from its suppliers.
When a learner leaves school they will be asked to return their device. Please ensure all supplied accessories are returned as these will be inspected for necessary repairs before being accepted back. Lost equipment will incur a cost.
Additional accessories can be purchased from the school office:
Charging cable – £10
Charger plug – £7
Fife Approved Standard iPad case – £15
