This page is where you will find all the information about how to inform us about your child’s absence from school.
Receiving notice that your child is going to be absent from school is very important. If we are not provided a reason for your child’s absence these sit on their record as unauthorised and unexplained. This affects your child’s attendance rate.
It is therefore important that if you child is going to be absent from school, that you inform us every day of their absence. If you know their absence will be long term, you can certify them for longer by telling us the intended date they will return to school.
It is Fife Council’s attendance policy that if we do not have notification of a child’s absent, a text alert must be sent. We will do this by 9:30am everyday.
