{"id":433,"date":"2022-03-07T14:34:54","date_gmt":"2022-03-07T14:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/?p=433"},"modified":"2022-03-08T15:00:26","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T15:00:26","slug":"weekly-update-7-march-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/2022\/03\/07\/weekly-update-7-march-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Update &#8211; 7 March 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Our school value focus this week is <strong>Achieving.<\/strong><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Nursery to P1 Transition<\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> begins next week with some informal visits by nursery (and playgroup) to the primary 1 classroom.\u00a0 This is being planned and delivered within a managed Covid-19 risk assessment.\u00a0 If your child is due to start school in August 2022 please ensure their application is submitted as soon as possible.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>P7 to S1 Applications<\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u2013 please ensure you have applied to enroll your P7 to your catchment high school before 15th March.\u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">It is customary for children to attend their local school (catchment school). If you don&#8217;t want your child to attend the local school, there&#8217;s the option within the online form to select up to two alternatives. This request is referred to as a placing request. More information can be found here: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fife.gov.uk\/services\/apply-for-it-online\/apply-for-a-school-place\/enrol-in-secondary-school\"><span data-ccp-charstyle=\"Hyperlink\">Enrol in secondary school | Fife Council<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent\/Carer Survey issued today<\/strong> &#8211; an email was sent to all nursery and school families today with a link to an online survey. We welcome your feedback.\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Please note the survey will close this Friday 11th March at midday, and not on Friday 18th March (as indicated in the email).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Individual\/Sibling Group Tempest Photos<\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u2013 a new date has been provisionally arranged \u2013 Friday 22nd April. This will be dependent on the current Covid-19 guidelines changing before this date. At present we are only able to allow essential visitors into school e.g. community police. Therefore, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">this new date will be confirmed, hopefully before the Easter holiday.<\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Rugby Taster &#8211; <\/strong>a selection of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> classes are to experience\u00a0 rugby taster sessions on Tuesday 8th March.\u00a0 Community Police Visit \u2013 our primary sixes will receive an internet safety input from the community police on Tuesday as well.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">One upper class proudly represented Tayport primary at a hockey festival at Madras College on Friday 4th.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>World Book Day and Scholastic Book <\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Fair \u2013 We had a very successful world book day week and some samples of the learning can be viewed on our school Twitter account. Book sales were also very strong over the week \u2013 the school receives a percentage of the sales to purchase books for our library and classes.
