{"id":426,"date":"2022-02-21T16:54:47","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T16:54:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/?p=426"},"modified":"2022-02-21T16:54:47","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T16:54:47","slug":"weekly-update-21-february-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/2022\/02\/21\/weekly-update-21-february-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Update &#8211; 21 February 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our school value focus this week is <strong>Thinking.<\/strong> Today our school captains visited every class to explain more about the thinking value.\u00a0 Tomorrow (22 February) is officially\u00a0 World Thinking Day &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wagggs.org\/en\/what-we-do\/world-thinking-day\/\">https:\/\/www.wagggs.org\/en\/what-we-do\/world-thinking-day\/<\/a>\u00a0 This has been celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship linked to the 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 150 countries.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-427 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/files\/2022\/02\/wbd.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"148\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>World Book Day<\/strong> \u2013 this year&#8217;s theme is \u201cYou are a reader\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0We will not be dressing up for world book day but a full day of literacy fun will be enjoyed on Thursday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> March.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a link to family resources to support a love of reading:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbookday.com\/families\/\">https:\/\/www.worldbookday.com\/families\/<\/a> &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Scholastic book fair<\/strong> arrives this Thursday (24th February) for one week.\u00a0 An email will be sent to all families tomorrow to share how you can browse and purchase books.\u00a0 We have \u00a31 book tokens available to each child too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent teacher meetings<\/strong> &#8211; expect a letter on Wednesday which will allow you to book a telephone appointment with class teachers from w.b. 14 March &#8211; 23 March.\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Please return promptly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Storm damage<\/strong> &#8211; some of our sports hall windows are damaged from the recent storms and are being checked.\u00a0 Therefore, the sports hall is currently out of use.
