{"id":2545,"date":"2025-03-24T11:36:11","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T11:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/?p=2545"},"modified":"2025-03-24T11:36:11","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T11:36:11","slug":"weekly-update-24-march-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/2025\/03\/24\/weekly-update-24-march-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Update &#8211; 24 March 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Term 3 Learning Showcases<\/strong> &#8211; we are delighted to share with you a sample of the wonderful learning happening in classes during this term.\u00a0 Visit the class page and select the relevant classes:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/tayportps\/classes-2\/\">click here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Before 9am and After 3pm<\/strong> &#8211; we have had a number of parents report safety concern about unsupervised children climbing on the main playground boundary walls before school.\u00a0 \u00a0Another ongoing issue before 9am is a few children&#8217;s use of <strong>mobile phones <\/strong>in the playground<strong>.\u00a0 <\/strong>For those children whose parents choose for them to bring a mobile phone to school the rules are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the phone must be switched off as soon as they enter the playground.<\/li>\n<li>the phone is handed in to the office\/ teacher at 9am and collected at 3pm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Please support us in keeping everyone sa<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">fe<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chewing gum &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong> periodically we have issues around children eating chewing gum in school.\u00a0 It would be greatly appreciated if you can reinforce that chewing gum is not allowed in school or at break times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Water Wardens<\/strong> &#8211; linked to our whole school learning &#8220;My Brilliant Machine&#8221; our Health Hub MAD group have come up with a plan to encourage everyone to drink water throughout the day. The objective is to drink <strong>one<\/strong> normal sized bottle of water over the school day.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the rules:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"mark88la9lb32\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Water<\/span> only \u2013 not juice!<\/li>\n<li>You are encouraged to drink a normal size <span class=\"mark88la9lb32\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">water<\/span> bottle. If you don&#8217;t have a bottle then classes should still have a plastic cup. The teacher can decide how many cups you should drink to earn the point.<\/li>\n<li>You can only earn <strong>one<\/strong> point per day.
