{"id":169,"date":"2021-02-23T11:31:52","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T11:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/fifeschoolps\/?page_id=169"},"modified":"2025-11-18T13:47:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T13:47:34","slug":"communication-methods","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/stpaulsrcprimaryschool\/our-school\/communication-methods\/","title":{"rendered":"Communication Methods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Communication <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We try to communicate in a variety of ways with both parents and pupils.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assemblies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assemblies are held weekly by Mrs MacPhee, HT, and Miss Tindal, Acting\u00a0 PT, where issues are discussed and feedback is given and collected.\u00a0 Every class is also given the opportunity to present a celebrating success assembly to their peers once a year.<\/p>\n<p>Pupils are also awarded Learning Superhero of the Week at assembly.\u00a0 This is when each class teacher awards a certificate to a child who has demonstrated one of the four capacities\u2014Confident Individual, Responsible Citizen, Effective Contributor and Successful Learner.\u00a0 They also link how the child has been like one our school Learning Superheroes- Challenge Charlie, Persevering Paula, Communication Cammy and Reflective Ruby along with the Metaskills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Email <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emails are regularly sent out by the office to share newsletters and other important information.\u00a0 You can also send emails to share information about your child to: <a href=\"mailto:stpaulsrcps.enquiries@fife.gov.uk\">stpaulsrcps.enquiries@fife.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Folders of Achievement <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FOA\u2013 shares learning targets and maps out your child\u2019s learning journey.\u00a0 These are now shared on Seesaw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Newsletters <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Newsletters are sent home every term to keep families informed of important dates and of the successes happening in school. The first newsletter of the year always contains a list of all the dates planned for the coming year \u2013 holidays, in-services, parties, shows, discos, sports day, shared starts\/finish etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent Council Meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All parents are welcome to attend our Parent Council meetings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parent interviews and Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Parent interviews are held twice in the year. For P1 their appointments will be in Term 1 and Term 3. For P2 \u2013P7 their appointments will be in Term 2 and Term 3. An appointment system is in place with <strong>10 minutes <\/strong>for each pupil. Formal written reports are given to parents in June.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pupil Learner Conversations<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pupils meet with HT &amp; PT to show work and discuss what they are learning. Information gathered is shared with staff and contributes towards school development and change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>School Seesaw <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every class has a personal Seesaw page that the class teacher keep up to date.\u00a0 The teacher shares photographs and videos of the class to give families a deeper understanding of the learning taking place in school.\u00a0 Teachers will also send home reminders about changes to gym days, visitors coming in and asking for craft resources for upcoming lessons.\u00a0 Homework and Folder of Achievement targets are now shared on Seesaw too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shared Start\/Finish<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shared start and shared finish is an opportunity to talk and listen to your child while engaging in a range of activities together encouraging your child to explain what they are learning. Through this, you will gain a deeper insight into your child\u2019s learning in the class environment.\u00a0 It is an opportunity for parents to observe their children in their school environment and celebrate achievements with them.\u00a0 It is an opportunity to build meaningful partnerships between school and home.<\/p>\n<p>Shared starts are from 9.15 to 10.00am and Shared Finishes are from 2.00 to 2.45pm.<\/p>\n<p>A timetable is sent home for the entire year on our first newsletter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Telephone <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mrs Grieve and Mrs Devine are always on hand to answer the telephone.\u00a0 If they are not available please leave a message and they will phone you back as soon as possible. 01592 583462<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Communication We try to communicate in a variety of ways with both parents and pupils.
