Pupil Council

Every year at our first Pupil Council Group, we do some ‘getting to know you’ activities to help us work together as a team.  We learn about how a Pupil Council works and the jobs involved.

In our group we brainstorm about areas we would like to improve in school and we conduct votes in each class to see which ideas were the most popular.

One of the areas that came out on top was to set up a tuck shop so we wrote a letter to ask for parent helpers. Some of the older children in PC went to visit another school where they had a successful tuck shop.  We learned that there were guidelines that had to be followed regarding nutritional information of what we sold so we researched the best products by producing a Survey online for parents and pupils.

We feel that we have have a great Pupil Council and have made a lot of good improvements.  Everyone has had a chance to give their own opinion and that of their classmates. We like having a vote so we can reach agreement on different topics.
