Community and Charity Group

Smartie Time

In conjunction with the Parish, the Community and Charity group distribute tubes of smarties to every pupil in the school so that they can return them full of 20ps.  The group calculated that a tube of smarties filled to the top could hold 60 20pences which would be £12.

Remembrance Day

Every year the group sell poppies to raise money for ex-servicemen and veterans of the armed forces.  To help boost the fundraising they also also organise a dress down day.

The Foodbank

The group also supports the local foodbank by encouraging pupils to bring in donations to help those less fortunate.  Did you know that as well as food the Foodbank also needs empty egg boxes and carrier bags.

Christmas Cards

In December the group enjoy making handmade Christmas cards which they they hand deliver to the neighbouring houses around the school to spread some Christmas cheer.

SCIAF

Every Lent the school supports the fantastic work that SCIAF does.  Each class has a wee box and the group organises a display in the hall to show the fundraising progress.  To boost the fundraising the group has organised a Crazy Hair Day.  The teachers enjoy having crazy hair as much as the pupils.
