Children will normally start school in the August following their 5th birthday.\u00a0 Children who are aged 4 and whose birthday is on or before 29th February may start at age 4. However, parents\/carers whose child\u2019s 5th birthday falls after the first day of the new term\u00a0 may choose to defer their child\u2019s entry into school until the following August.<\/p>\n
