School Houses<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The pupils in the school are divided into three houses, with siblings staying within the same house.<\/p>\n

Our house names are closely connected to the community.<\/p>\n

Inverie<\/u><\/strong> \u2013<\/p>\n

For sports day pupils are encouraged to wear a red top to collect points for their house.<\/p>\n

Prior to 875ad the village was named Inverie , changing when St.Monan was buried in a shrine in the village. The village then become a significant fishing port and now has a street named Inverie.<\/p>\n

Newark<\/u><\/strong> \u2013<\/p>\n

Once standing proud on the cliffside after being built in the 15th<\/sup> and 16th<\/sup> centuries overlooking the North Sea, Newark castle remains now as a ruin. Having been built by the Kinloch family and then sold onto David Leslie who became Lord Newark after the English and Scottish Civil wars. The village has a street named Newark.<\/p>\n

Abercrombie<\/u><\/strong> –<\/p>\n

Abercrombie was the name of the parish in which St.Monans is located. The parish moved to St.Monans in 1646 when the Abercrombie Church was abandoned.
