This week was STEM week and we were lucky enough to have several visitors we learnt about rocks, marine conservation, took part in a fun measurement practical and even sat in a gritter lorries cab. We made bubbles and worked out that all bubbles are spherical no matter what shape you blow through. We had a hands-on session learning about electric current and made our very own circuits.
Our writing this week has been focusing on creative writing based on the first line ‘I never should have gone there’ I enjoyed reading any spooky tales from my imaginative class. We have been using bullet points and colons correctly in lists and listed everything in our human bodies we even shocked ourselves with how much we knew! We have started a new story ‘The Demon Headmaster’ we have got to a good part as Dinah the main character is attempting to not be hypnotised we’ll let you know what happens next week.
In maths we have been learning out a new concept tessellation using 2D shapes to produce patterns with no overlap or gaps and have been improving our multiplication with ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ style quizzes. To finish off the week we designed our very own trainer and thought about brands, style and ultimately comfort.
