What are the Parent Forum and Parent Council and what do they do?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Parent Forum of St Columba\u2019s RC Primary school consists of all parents\/carers of children at the school. Each year, a Parent Council is elected by the Parent Forum to carry out the following objectives:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0Facilitate inclusion for all in the Parent Forum.<\/li>\n
  2. \u00a0Promote partnership between the school, its pupils, the Parent\u00a0 \u00a0Forum and the Catholic Church.<\/li>\n
  3. Through partnership, support all pupils to develop their full potential leading to their lifelong activities being guided by the Holy Spirit in the presence of Christ in the service of God and others.<\/li>\n
  4. \u00a0Develop and engage in activities which support the school and the education and welfare of the pupils.<\/li>\n
  5. \u00a0Identify and represent the views the Parent Forum regarding the education provided by the school and all matters affecting the and welfare of the pupils.<\/li>\n
  6. \u00a0Fund raise sufficiently to support projects taken on by the Parent Council.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    At the Parent Council, we believe\u00a0that a strong partnership between parents, carers, teachers and school staff is vital for enhancing\u00a0the educational experience of the pupils. We serve as a bridge, facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure that the voice of every parent and carer is heard.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    \u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    Our primary purpose is to provide a platform for open and effective communication between parents, carers, and the school. We want to hear your opinions, concerns and suggestions to create an environment where everyone feels valued and involved. Through termly meetings, we aim to address any issues that may arise and work together to find solutions.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    \u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    As part of our commitment to supporting the school, we organise various events throughout the year. These events not only bring the community together but also serve as fundraising opportunities to provide additional resources for the school. From discos that get everyone on their feet to the excitement and sense of community of Santa’s Sleigh, the Cupar duck race, and the Cupar Children’s Gala Day, there’s always something for everyone to enjoy.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    \u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    Our meetings are held once a term and we invite all parents and carers to attend. During these meetings, we are provided with an update of work ongoing or new initiatives from the staffing team and asked for our input. It is a valuable\u00a0opportunity to stay\u00a0informed, voice your thoughts and contribute to important decisions that affect our children’s education.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    \u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
    The Parent Council can only grow and move forward with the support of the entire parent community. From time to time we may ask for volunteers to help with the fundraising efforts, that may be attending a disco, selling tickets, or spreading the word, please know that your participation and support is greatly appreciated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n

    We hope that together we can embed a strong sense of community within the St Columbas Parent Council and beyond.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
