Fairtrade 2021 – 2022
The commitment to being a Fairtrade school has been on going for many years at St Columba’s although we only decided to go for recognition in 2011.
So far we are proud of:
- making our new families aware of this commitment
- reminding existing families of our responsibility to being a Fairtrade school
- introducing new Fairtrade products to the school community
Our biggest achievement has been to raise enough money to buy 14 SHELTER BOXES which were deployed to North Korea to help a community after heavy rains had destroyed their community.
We aim to:
- continue to work towards a fairly made and traded school uniform (even if it’s only our PE t-shirt!)
- ask for more Fairtrade ingredients in our school dinners (We know all the sugar is!)
- add more Fairtrade events to our school calendar.
