Digital Schools

Digital technology is a fully integrated aspect of this ambitious and enthusiastic school under the leadership of Headteacher Stephen Morrison, Digital Technology Coordinator, Kris Robb and Caroline Robertson, and with support from Derek Rolland, Fife Council’s Education Support Officer for Digital Literacy. The school is well supported by Fife Council in the Progression in ICT (PICT) program which has been developed to support teachers in delivering ICT and developing student’s digital learning skills through age and stage appropriate learning. The school has regular supportive consultations and classroom visits from the Fife Digital Learning team. Staying safe online from Fife’s Digital Rationalisation Initiative was a recent workshop run by Derek Rolland. HT spoke about the collaborative digital journey the school has been on since he joined in 2018 December. In 2019/2020 there was an emphasis placed on integrating GLOW more widely, resulting in a preparedness for online learning during the first COVID-19 lockdown in spring 2020. The school is proactive in seeking out new digital learning opportunities for its students and ensures full compliance is adhered to with respect to GDPR by constant communication with Fife Digital Learning Team who regularly undertake DPIA on newly available apps and websites. Rationalisation of this process within the council is currently underway.
