{"id":294,"date":"2025-12-28T20:47:46","date_gmt":"2025-12-28T20:47:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/springfieldprimaryschool\/?page_id=294"},"modified":"2025-12-28T20:47:59","modified_gmt":"2025-12-28T20:47:59","slug":"additional-level","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/springfieldprimaryschool\/supporting-learning\/getting-it-right-for-every-child-girfec\/additional-level\/","title":{"rendered":"Additional Level"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-757\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/public\/largowardps\/uploads\/sites\/12647\/2024\/02\/26135221\/Capture-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"201\" height=\"109\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Where universal supports fail to meet the needs of a child\/young person an additional level of planning and support may be required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does this look like in practice?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Further assessment<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 review of prior assessment information, chronology, meet with parents, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ask the\u00a0<strong>5 GIRFEC Questions<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol class=\"b_dList\">\n<li data-priority=\"\">What is getting in the way of this child\u2019s wellbeing?<\/li>\n<li data-priority=\"\">Do we have all the information we need to help this child?<\/li>\n<li data-priority=\"\">What can we do now to help this child?<\/li>\n<li data-priority=\"\">What can my service do to help this child?<\/li>\n<li data-priority=\"\">What additional help, if any, may be needed from others?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Update or create a\u00a0<strong>Summary of Support\u00a0<\/strong>to be shared with all key staff<\/li>\n<li>Creation of a\u00a0<strong>Child\u2019s Plan<\/strong>\u00a0(or CSP if requested).\u00a0 The shortened version of a child\u2019s plan is typically used.<\/li>\n<li>Some learners may require a\u00a0<strong>Pro-Active Management Plan<\/strong>\u00a0(PAMP) when a child\u2019s\/young person\u2019s presenting<br \/>\nbehaviours are causing significant concern on<br \/>\nan ongoing basis and present a risk to themselves or others.\u00a0 This will be included in their child\u2019s plan.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>Risk Assessment<\/strong>\u00a0may also be required when a child\/young person is presenting with behaviours which pose a risk to themselves or others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Regular Review Meetings<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Wellbeing Meetings<\/strong>\u00a0with school staff, families and any other agencies involved in supporting the child\/young person.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Requests for Assistance<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Referrals<\/strong>\u00a0may be made to other agencies and professionals to support the learner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Where universal supports fail to meet the needs of a child\/young person an additional level of planning and support may be required.
