• The Question
  • 2 doors – one leads to death, the other to freedom.
    2 guards – one lies, one tells the truth
    In both cases, you don’t know which is which.
• The answer:
  • You ask one of the guards, “What door would the other guard tell me leads to freedom?”
    You take the OPPOSITE door.
• Why?
  • If the guard you asked was the liar, he will falsely tell you that the OTHER guard will send you to the death door.
    If the guard you asked tells the truth, he will truthfully tell you that the OTHER guard will send you to the death door.
  • So no matter which guard you ask, the answer they give will be the wrong door. Take the opposite door.
