Weekly Update 19 December 2024

We are in full festive spirit at the moment with all our parties and Christmas events taking place!

Our P3 Nativity “Christmas Recipe” was a huge success with a wonderful turn out from our P3 parents/carers. Thanks to all of you who managed to come along to support your children.

The Christmas Raffle was drawn at the end of the Nativity and winners have been contacted by the Parent Partnership! Thanks to you all for your generous donations and a special thank you to our parent partnership for all your hard work in organising the prizes.

Our Nursery children had their annual sing-a-long.  Again, we had a fantastic turn-out from parents/carers and the children sang their little hearts out! A very special visitor (in a red suit!)came while they were singing to deliver their presents!

This week all classes (P1 to P7) are sending out Scots Poems so that children have them to practise over the Christmas break. Winners will perform at our Scottish Ceilidh to Families on Thursday 30th January 2025 at 1.30pm

The list of poems for each year group is as follows:

It would be really helpful if your child had a change of shoes on wet days

Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel

5-21 year olds living in Scotland can now apply to access free bus travel from 31 January. In light of high levels of COVID-19 transmission, the Scottish Government is asking that you only apply for the scheme at this point if it is essential that you, or your child, travel while restrictions are in place. All other eligible applicants will be proactively encouraged to apply at a later date.

Even if you already have a National Entitlement Card or Young Scot National Entitlement Card, you must apply for a new or replacement card to travel by bus for free. Parents or guardians must provide approval for children aged between 5-15 to access the scheme by applying on their behalf. Young people aged 16-21 should apply themselves.

The Transport Scotland website provides all the information needed to apply.

There are two ways to apply:

Online at GETYOURNEC.SCOT (or through parentsportal.scot)
If you cannot, or do not want to apply online please contact us on 03451 550066 or email MyFife.Account@fife.gov.uk for a paper application to be issued
For your information, here are step-by-step instruction videos on how to apply for an NEC card through either getyournec.scot or through the parentsportal.scot

Secondary School Enrolment

Enrolling in secondary school
Enrolment for 2022/23 is currently open.

From 30th November 2021, the Education Service are trialling an online enrolment form for all pupils transferring to secondary school in August 2022.

All applications should be completed online before 15th March 2022.

When accessing the Enrol a child into secondary school form, you will be asked to log in or register for a mygov.scot “myaccount”. You will need this account throughout your child’s education. Once you’ve set this account up, you will then be able to enrol your child(ren) or make a placing request using the online form. To help you create a mygov.Scot account, we’ve made a short ‘how to’ video.

Can I apply for a school outwith my catchment area?
How do I make a placing request?
How will I be notified about my child’s place?
What if there are no places available at the local school?
