Nursery Outdoor Learning
In nursery we aim to expand the children’s learning through opportunities for learning their place in the wider world.
NURSERY GROUNDS:
We are very fortunate to have access to a variety of settings within the school grounds. We have our own garden area where we are very lucky to have excellent parent support in maintaining this and keeping the weeds under control! We’ve also had support from Glenrothes High School Duke of Edinburgh pupils this year already. We have an enclosed play area where we can use tubs for planting fruit and vegetables and play with wheeled toys and a climbing frame.
SCHOOL GROUNDS:
We enjoy walking around the school grounds to see the changing seasons. We can use the school tarmac areas when the primary school children are in school and we can use the large playing fields at times.
THE LOCAL AREA:
We enjoy walking to the library and to the local shops. Where we are working on road safety and being responsible and respectful citizens in the community.
THE FOREST:
We visit Falkland Estate and the forest there. We travel by minibus where we are aware of safety rules on the bus ensuring we wear our seatbelts and use our travel seats. We enjoy exploring and if there is mud we love it even better! This experience teaches us to have respect for the environment.
THE BEACH:
We visit the beach at Lower Largo where we can explore the rock pools and write in the sand with sticks, build sand pies and splash in the sea. This experience allows us to see the change in tides and the effect it has on the coastline. Our journey in the minibus allows us to see a variety of houses, fields and farming projects as we pass through other areas in Fife.
