Term 2
This term sees us continue to work on our John Muir Award. Many of us experienced the adventure of our Ardroy residential, taking part in adventurous outdoor activities such as canoeing, abseiling and archery – not to mention conquering the formidable Jacobs Ladder! The group were an absolute pleasure to take away and truly did themselves and the school proud. There were simply too many wonderful displays of camaraderie, effective communication and fear facing to name.
This good work is to be continued now back at school, including taking part in a conservation project in our local community.
Term 1
We are establishing ourselves with our new roles and responsibilities as top of the school. It’s not all getting to sitting on chairs at assembly (although that is exciting)! At break and lunch times we can now be found acting as Pitreavie Problem Solvers in the playgrounds, helping our peers and the younger children navigate conflict while upholding our school values of kindness, responsibility and respect. We are also acting as stair and shelter monitors at these times and have class responsibilities during wet breaks. We will shortly be announcing our House Captains too! Lots of opportunities to build our skills for learning, life and work as well as being effective contributors and responsible citizens.
We have begun working towards our John Muir ‘Discover’ Award and in addition to this, ten lucky P7s will have the opportunity to take part in the Munro Challenge, climbing Beinn Ghlas. At time of writing, this decision has not yet been made but I can assure you it won’t be an easy one. You can find out more about the John Muir Award in this short video.
