The Squashed Tomato Challenge is a science and technology challenge involving making a pulley and container system to transport tomatoes up and down a steep mountain. We did this because of people in countries like Nepal. In Nepal farmers had to find a solution to transporting their produce up and down mountains to get to market without squashing or dropping any. We used resources such as K’Nex, lego, string, and of course, tomatoes! While making our containers and ropes systems we used skills such as, creativity, problem solving and trial and error. You can see pictures of our efforts below. The teams of Isla and Amy and Oliver and Jodie both made successful models!
This weeks VIBs have been Isla, Oliver and Joe.
