What a week we\u2019ve had in P6! We\u2019ve been learning, creating and challenging ourselves in lots of different ways, there\u2019s never a dull moment in our classroom!<\/p>\n
This week in grammar we learned how to use direct speech properly. We practised adding speech marks and punctuation to show exactly what people were saying, it was fun making up our own conversations!<\/p>\n
In writing, we became newspaper reporters! We wrote our very own news reports, making sure to include all the key features, catchy headlines, 5Ws (who, what, where, when, why), quotes, and even some dramatic openings. Our classroom felt like a busy newsroom!<\/p>\n
Art got very<\/em> colourful this week! We made Pop Art pumpkins inspired by artists like Andy Warhol. Our pumpkins were bright, bold and full of personality.<\/p>\n In numeracy, we consolidated our skills in the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). We had mild<\/em>, hot<\/em> and spicy<\/em> challenges to choose from, everyone picked the right level to stretch themselves. Some of us even managed the extra spicy ones!<\/p>\n We also explored scale by creating our very own football shoe boxes<\/em>! It was tricky making sure everything was the right size, but it really helped us understand how scaling works in real life.<\/p>\n In PE, we\u2019ve been working hard at netball stations. We practised our throwing, catching and footwork, teamwork and communication were key! Everyone showed great sportsmanship and energy.<\/p>\n In HWB, we\u2019ve been learning about the wellbeing indicators, being Healthy, Safe, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included<\/em>. We created our very own class charter to show how we can meet these indicators every day.<\/p>\n We also discussed the skills we use in different situations. We looked at scenarios, identified the skills we\u2019d need, and then created our own Skill Passports to track what we\u2019re good at and what we want to develop. We\u2019re definitely becoming more confident learners!<\/p>\n It\u2019s been a jam-packed week in P6, full of creativity, teamwork and learning.
