Another brilliant week in P6!<\/p>\n
We kicked things off by re-drafting our football-themed imaginative stories with the help of our feedback! After planning, drafting and redrafting, we completed our final entries, packed full of emotion, exciting action and powerful descriptions. We have now been focusing on writing match reports, separating the key moments in the games with clear sections to build suspense and realism.<\/p>\n
We used Tickled Pink and Green for Growth feedback to reflect on our writing, celebrating what went well and identifying ways we could make our work even better next time. It’s amazing to see how much care and effort everyone is putting into their writing!<\/p>\n
In spelling, we had great fun with two creative approaches\u2014more Pointillism Spelling and some outdoor Air Spelling, using our arms and hands to “write” the words in the air. These fun methods helped reinforce our word knowledge in imaginative ways.<\/p>\n
In numeracy, we worked through division stations,\u00a0to solve a range of problems and deepen our understanding. We also explored word problems that challenged us to apply division and multiplication strategies in real-life contexts. On top of that, we were introduced to scale, learning how to interpret maps and drawings. What a busy week for our maths brains!<\/p>\n
Our French fact files are really coming together! We used our growing bank of vocabulary to write about famous French people, using words linked to professions, interests and identity. It\u2019s been a great way to practise sentence building while learning about inspiring individuals.<\/p>\n
We continued look at our novel, exploring what it might be like to live in a divided city. Inspired by our class novel Divided City<\/em>, we each created a “day in the life” short story, imagining the challenges and emotions someone might face in a community shaped by division. We used Book Creator to bring these stories to life digitally, showing empathy, imagination and thoughtful reflection.<\/p>\n In literacy we focused on our comprehension, we worked hard to explore deeper meanings in texts, focusing on understanding characters’ feelings and motivations. We also updated our e-portfolios, taking time to reflect on our learning and add examples we\u2019re proud of.<\/p>\n We had our first go at netball skills in PE this week! We started practising passing, pivoting and positioning\u2014building the foundations for strong teamwork and movement. It’s a new challenge and we\u2019re excited to keep improving.<\/p>\n We also met in our committees, continuing to take on roles across the school and help make a difference. From Eco, to Health and Wellbeing and Right’s Respecting School’s, everyone is stepping up with responsibility and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n It\u2019s been another week full of creativity, critical thinking and collaboration.
