What a fantastic first week back it’s been in P6! We’ve jumped straight into learning, creating and challenging ourselves in lots of different ways!
In writing, we explored Halloween personification poetry, using our prior knowledge to bring spooky objects to life. We then redrafted our poems to improve them and added images to make them even more eye-catching and atmospheric.
We also became authors of our own spooky short imaginative stories, focusing on setting, characters, problems and resolutions. It was a great way to recap our knowledge of story structure and show off our descriptive language skills.
In spelling, we had fun with a spooky spelling challenge, hiding our words inside haunted scenes – a creative way to practise tricky words while getting into the Halloween spirit!
In numeracy, we revisited the four operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division – to recap our prior learning and strengthen our confidence with calculations.
We also took part in some exciting code-breaking challenges, using logical thinking and teamwork to crack puzzles and uncover hidden messages.
Our Halloween team PE games were a big hit too! We worked together through a range of fun, active challenges that got everyone moving while showing great teamwork,
During Skills Academy’s, we worked alongside other classes to develop a wide range of skills, from teamwork and communication to creativity and problem-solving.
Finally, we took some time to reflect on our Term 1 targets and set new goals for Term 2. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and motivated to keep improving!
It’s been a brilliant start to the new term – full of learning, creativity and Halloween fun!
