Monday to Wednesday with Mrs Meiklem

This week we have been taking part in class discussions, practising our listening and debating skills. Two of our hot topics this week were about reusable toilet paper and extreme dog grooming. We all had lots of interesting things to say.
We had local historian Marie Shiels in to talk to us about Newport at Leisure in the past. She showed us lots of old photographs and told us what people in our community used to do for hobbies. We also asked her about the skills you need to be a historian.
We created a lovely piece of art work on boats of the Tay. This was linking to our topic when thinking about how people use the river for leisure activities. We are entering them into the Unicorn Art Competition.
