We have had another good week in Primary 1/2.
Outdoor learning –
We loved working with the loose parts to make our own Artic animal homes.
We used chalk and natural materials to create our own Artic animal homes.
Numeracy/ Maths –
We have been working on our addition to 10/20/100 learning .
We have also been working on our time learning .
We enjoyed playing Sum Dog.
Literacy – We created our own poems about The Northern Lights.
We all enjoyed our reading books this week .
We also created our own fact files about our favourite polar land animal.
We have been working hard to practise for our special assembly on Monday.
We have lots of learning to share with you all.
Art- We created Polar Land headbands to wear during our assembly.

Happy Thursday!
We have had a busy week in P1/2.
PE- We all enjoyed taking part in the mile. We also enjoyed doing exercises to music. We are all getting fitter.
Art- We carefully sketched pictures of Orcas. We also made a special leaving card for Claire in the kitchen.
Music- We have been learning a song called ‘Polar lands’.
Outdoor learning – We enjoyed using the loose parts to create something to explore the Polar Lands with. We also collected natural materials to make our own boats . We got to try them out in our water tray.
Maths/Numeracy- We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog. We have also been working on our addition to 10/20/100 learning . We have also been working on our time learning .
Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week. P1 – We were learning the sounds z,y and x .
P2 – We were practising our new spelling words .
We did a piece of imaginative writing this week. This was fun .
We enjoyed having our special adults into our class to work with us.
Our Northern Lights art work looks great .

Happy Friday !
We have had another hard working week in Primary 1/2.
Inspired by a firework display we printed a picture of our own firework displays. We also created a poem about fireworks . We had to think about shapes, colours and sounds. We also discussed how important it is to be safe when near fireworks . We made our own safety posters .

Miss Allan worked with us on Wednesday .
We loved our school trip to The Discovery on Thursday . We loved looking around the ship and the museum . We liked dressing up as Artic Explorers.
Thank you to all our helpers .
Literacy- We all enjoyed our reading books. P1 new sounds were j, v and w.

P2 had new spelling words to practise.
Maths/Numeracy – We have been working on our addition to 10/20and 100. We all enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog.

PE- We loved doing different exercises to music. We all tried hard to run the mile.

We have had another fun week in P1/2.
We all enjoyed our last Skills Academies. Lots of new skills learned and developed .
Art – We used chalk and oil pastels to draw our own polar bears. They look super. We have been learning about polar bears as part of our topic .
PE- We enjoyed doing different exercises to music. We also enjoyed doing some Halloween Yoga.
We all loved running the whole school mile.
Science – We discussed water and the different states it can be in. We made our own ice gardens.
Literacy- We all loved our reading books this week.
We did a piece of imaginative writing about making a witches potion .
P1 – Our new sounds were f, b and l.

We were practising blending 3 letter words.

P2- We practised our new spelling words.
We were also working on putting words into alphabetical order .

Numeracy/Maths- We have been learning o clock and half past on an analogue clock. We continued on our numbers to 10/20/100 and 1000 learning . We all enjoyed some time on Sum Dog.

Drama- We were role playing being polar bears in the Artic. This was fun.

We have had a busy and settled first week back.

Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week . We have been practising our key words. We did a piece of writing about our holiday news.
P1- We were learning our new sounds – g, on and u.
P2- We were practising our new spelling words .
Numeracy/Maths -We made our own clocks for helping us learn the time.
We were continuing with our numbers to 10/20/100 and 1000 learning .
We enjoyed some time on Sum Dog.
Our new topic is Polar Lands .
Art-We painted very cool penguins .
P2- We all enjoyed our Skills Academies this week.
P1- We enjoyed working with all the Primary 1’s. We were singing lots of songs.
PE-We are working on our fitness. We loved doing different exercises to music .

We have had another busy and fun week in Primary 1/2.
Outdoor learning – We enjoyed collecting leaves to complete our Autumn sun catchers .
PE- We enjoyed running the mile. We also enjoyed playing different playground games.

We all enjoyed our Pupil Committees this week. Lots of fun learning.
Topic – We loved making our shoe box farms. They look fantastic .

Literacy – P1- We were working on our new sounds – d, m and r.
P2- We were working on our new spelling words .
Health- We discussed all the strategies we could use if we needed help in class or outside . We drew and labelled 4 strategies.

Art- We finished our special Christmas cards.

Music- We have been practising our Harvest songs.

Outdoor learning – We loved making our own apple juice using apples from the trees in our playground.
We collected apples , washed , chopped and mashed them before they went into the apple press . The apple juice was so yummy.
PE- We loved playing different playground games. We also enjoyed running the mile.
Maths/Numeracy- We have been continuing with our 3D shape learning. We have also been working on our numbers to 10/20/100/500 learning .

Literacy- We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We made farm animal posters during our writing time . P2 – We worked on our new spelling words. P1-We learned our new sounds – c,k,e and h.
Art-We made handprint chickens . We also started making special Christmas cards for our special adults to buy.

Happy Friday!

Outdoor learning – We enjoyed working in small groups with our loose parts to make a piece of farm machinery .
We also collected sticks and tried to build the highest tower we could.

PE-We enjoyed running the mile. We played lots of fun games in PE.
Literacy- P1 -We have been learning our new sounds – p, i and n.
P2- We have been learning our new spelling words .
We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We have been practising our key words.
We all made Wanted posters this week. This was fun !
Maths/Numeracy- We have been working on our numbers to 10/20/100 learning . We have also been counting our work on 2D/3D shapes .
We all loved playing Sum Dog on our iPads .

Art- We printed pink pigs 🐷 They look perfect !
Science- We did an investigation to find out if materials were waterproof or non waterproof.

We have had another hard working and fun week in P1/2.

PE- We enjoyed playing different games. We loved using the parachute. We enjoyed running the mile.
Outdoor learning- We enjoyed working in small groups to make a home for a small animal.
Maths/Numeracy – We have been working on 2D and 3D shapes.
We have been continuing our work on numbers to 10/20/100/500 learning .

Topic- We were learning about male and female farm animals and their babies. We had a matching job to do.
Health – We read the story ‘Beautiful Oops’. We had to turn a few mistakes into something beautiful. We appreciate that it’s ok to make mistakes and we can learn from our mistakes.
Drama- We loved playing different games and role playing different animals you find on the farm.
Literacy – We did a piece of writing about when we feel excited. We drew detailed pictures and made sure we punctuated our sentences correctly.

We have had a lovely week in P1/2.

Literacy – P2 -We have been working on our new spelling words. We have also been practising our key reading words. We enjoyed our reading books this week.
P1- We did lots of rhyming activities . We also practised writing our names. We enjoyed our cutting job.
We did a little bit of personal writing about things that make us feel sad. We had to do detailed drawings. We had to remember how to punctuate our sentences correctly.

Numeracy-We all enjoyed time playing Sum Dog on our class iPads . We were working on our numbers to 10/20/100 learning.
We were working on 2D and 3D shapes. We have been playing lots of fun games.

PE-We enjoyed running the mile. We also had fun playing different playground games.
Science- We were sorting objects into natural and human-made.
Outdoor learning – We collected natural materials to make an emotion face.
Loose Parts – We worked in groups to make a home for a farm animal.
Topic- We designed our own farms.

Health- We discussed the things we are good at and the things we would like to be good at. It is important to keep practising.
