Happy Friday and Happy Holidays! 🌞

PE – We enjoyed running the daily mile with the whole school . We also enjoyed playing lots of different games on the high pitch . This was so much fun.
Literacy- We have been practising our key words . We also have been working on our scissor skills and our letter formations.
Maths- We have been finishing off our money learning and our numbers to 20 and 100 learning. We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog.

We loved taking part and watching our class talent show.
Outdoor learning- We enjoyed using our large loose parts. We made lots of cool creations.
We all enjoyed meeting our new teachers on Tuesday morning 😊

We have had a fun and hard working week in P1/2.
Art- We used oil pastels to draw beautiful daisies .
PE- We enjoyed running the mile. We loved finishing our sports day races.
We also enjoyed playing dodgeball.
Literacy- We have been working on our letter formations. We did a piece of imaginative writing. We enjoyed our reading books this week. We loved listening to each others mini talks about a pet or hobby . Great talking and listening by us all.
Numeracy / Maths- We have been working on our numbers to 20 and 100 learning . We have also been finishing our money learning.

Topic- We designed a poster of everything we can do in Newport.
We have been practising our end of term songs.
We loved having time exploring with the large loose parts.
We made a congratulations card for Betty Martin who is receiving an MBE. We also made bunting for P7 wishing them good luck at High School.

PE-We loved taking part in sports day today. It was lots of fun ! We also enjoyed taking part in the mile.

Literacy- We did a piece of imaginative writing this week based on the oyster catchers .
We all enjoyed our reading books. We were also practising our letter formations. We have started planning our individual talks about a pet or a hobby.

Maths / Numeracy- We have been continuing our work on numbers to 20 and 100. We also did more learning about pictographs and bar graphs .

Art- We did a special job for our Dads:)

Topic- We planned our route through Berrys Den.

Outdoor Learning -We loved making pancakes with Tony Credland from Natural Connections. We also enjoyed time exploring in Berrys Den.

PE-We enjoyed practising for sports day . We also enjoyed running the mile. We enjoyed taking part in the house athletics competition. This was fun .

Numeracy /Maths- We have been continuing with our numbers to 20/100 learning. We have also been working with Caroll Diagrams and bar graphs.
We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog.

Topic – We talked about litter in our playground and local area. We made posters to encourage people to use the litter bins or take their rubbish home.
Science – We were thinking about what different objects in our class and playground are made from . For example- wood or plastic.

Literacy – We have been working on our letter formations . We all enjoyed our reading books . We did a piece of personal writing about our holiday news.

Literacy-We all enjoyed our reading books. We also loved reading books outdoors in the sunshine . We have been working on our final blends. We have been continuing to work on our letter formations. We were writing imaginative pieces of writing this week.
Art-We printed beautiful sunflowers.

We have had another fun week in P1/2.

Science – We were learning about man made and natural materials .

Maths /Numeracy – P2 have been continuing with our division learning .
P1 have been working on our numbers to 20/100 learning .
We all enjoyed playing Sum Dog. We loved our measure learning this week. We were estimating and measuring the capacity of different containers.

Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week . We have been working hard on our letter formations . We were using our imaginations for our piece of writing this week. We had to think about something that happened to us on the way to school. We used the ‘WOW’ word ‘suddenly’.

Topic- We were discussing people who help us in our local community. We drew pictures and did a little bit of writing about our 4 chosen adults.

Art- We were using cold and hot colours to create a sunset and sea. We then drew a line drawing of the Tay Rail bridge.  Our pictures look lovely.

PE-We enjoyed working on our athletics skills and techniques. We enjoyed running the mile before the lovely weather changed.

A big thank you to Donald’s dad for coming to talk to us about his job as a Doctor . He shared some of the equipment he uses and taught us what to do if we found a conscious casualty.

It is Miss Latif’s last day with us today.  We will miss her. We all wish her well on her teaching journey.

   We have had a great week in P1/2.

Health – We were discussing people who can help us at home and at school. We were also thinking about things we can do if we or our friends feel sad or angry.

Numeracy / Maths – We have been continuing with our measure learning. We were measuring containers using cups . This was lots of fun .
P1-We have been working on numbers to 20/100.
P2-We have been working on our division learning .

Literacy- We were writing about seeing The Northern Lights. We were using ‘WOW’ words .
We all enjoyed our reading books this week . We have been working on our letter formations.
P1-We had initial blends learning to do.
P2- We had spelling words to learn. We had a visit from the author ‘Morag Hood’. We got to listen to a couple of her books and we took part in a drawing task . This was great fun. We also enjoyed reading a book in the sunshine .

PE-We have been working on our athletics skills and techniques. We also enjoyed running the mile .
Art- We had a special job to do for our Dads.

Topic-We had to draw and label what we can see in our local area.

Science – P1 were learning about the solar system . P2 were learning about predators and prey.
Numeracy /Maths- We had fun weighing different objects in our classroom . We have been working on our numbers to 20/100 and our times tables.
We had fun exploring the loose parts.

Numeracy/maths – We have been continuing it work on numbers to 20 and 100. Primary 2 have been working on multiplication. We have also been continuing our measure learning . We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog.
Literacy – We have been working on our letter formations . We also did a little bit of writing discussing whether we should wear school uniform or not. We all enjoyed our reading books this week.
P1 were working on their initial blends and P2 had spelling words to practise .

PE- We enjoyed the daily mile. We also enjoy our athletics learning – our focus was on jumping.

Health – P2 worked with Primary 2 and Primary 1 worked with Primary 1 . The focus was on privacy .

Art- We printed and painted beautiful rainbow flowers .

Another fun and busy week in Primary 1/2!
We enjoyed taking part in different athletics stations in the sun.  We enjoyed taking part in the daily mile .
Numeracy/Maths – We have been working on our measure learning. We have also been working on our numbers to 20 and 100. P2 have been working on their multiplication learning .
Literacy – P2 had spelling words to work on . P1 were working on initial blends. We all enjoyed our reading books this week . We have also been continuing to work hard in our letter formations.
Art- We painted beautiful blossom trees. They look lovely in our classroom.
Health – We have been discussing change. We read a book called ‘ Little Tree’ by Lauren Long.
