We have been learning about underwater habitats and marine life as part of our Biodiversity topic. We will be continuing this next week on the lead up to World Ocean Day.
In Maths we have been learning how to solve Pyramid Sums. Sometimes we are given the top number in the pyramid and sometimes we are giving the bottom row of numbers. It’s basically addition and subtraction with a twist.
In Literacy we have focused on reading comprehension and have been learning about Haiku poetry. We wrote some in pairs and today we all created one of our own. Everyone needed to remember the syllable rule (5, 7, 5). We are going to give them to P1 to see if they can guess what we have described.
We finished our bee art this week too – they are up on the wall and look great. Each little bee has a dotty line to show the journey from the flower to the beehive.
We have learned how to look after plants and animals. We are all going to take care of a broad bean by keeping them in the sunlight and making sure they have enough water – we hope that by Tuesday some of them might have a root.
We have started to plan our Social Enterprise topic – a Book Swap for the whole school. More information coming soon!
