Our Blog

We have been learning about alphabetical order this week and have been looking at picture dictionaries and index pages in non-fiction books. We will continue to explore this next week as some children are ready to look at the second letter to put words in order.

In Maths we have been learning about Carrol Diagrams and Bar Charts. During outdoor learning today we filled in a Carrol Diagram of information we found in the playground. Everyone did an amazing job!

In PE we are continuing to work on our ball skills – in particular throwing and catching. We are hoping to feel confident enough to play a game.

We are learning a variety of dances in pairs, groups and as a whole class. Today we learned a set dance called the “Runaway Train” which was fast but we all got the hang of it after a few goes.

We have been exploring compass directions and we are starting to look at different maps.

As part of our Health and Wellbeing learning we have been exploring similarities and differences. We have been using the words unique and diversity.

We have made posters about our hobbies and next week we will present them to the class.

One of the highlights this week was having a visit from the Dundee Science Centre. We learned all about the different organs in our body.

We sang a fun song called “Use Your Imagination” which we will continue to work on, adding instruments and singing in parts.
