Our Blog

We have enjoyed our last two Loose Parts sessions with P3/4. Last week we built castles and this week we used our creativity in small groups to play a variety of games.

In Outdoor Learning we have been working with P5 pupils to spot the signs of spring, carry out bird surveys, make bird feeders, take a litter survey and go on a texture hunt.

In Numeracy we have been counting in 2s, 5s, 10s and some children have even been counting in 3s and 6s. We have been exploring weight and learning about grams and kilograms.

We wrote an acrostic poem this week all about Spring. We look forward to writing one about Easter next week.

We have been learning about past tense verbs – we are getting good at identifying which ones need ‘ed’ at the end and which words change.

In PE we have been enjoyed learning new hockey skills. We will continue with this next week and try to put some of our skills into a game situation.

In Science we have continued to explore the importance of water. Next, we will be learning about different materials (which ones are waterproof and which ones absorb water) and we will suggest uses for these.

We have been busy getting ready for our Spring Assembly too – hopefully we will see some of you there.
