\u00a0Hello everyone, we hope you all have had a great week! Here is a quick look at what we have been up to in nursery…..<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

This week learning is\u2026 creativity, motor skills, team work, communication, balancing skills, hand\/eye coordination, numeracy, literacy, self confidence, exploring, predicting, being curious, sharing, self-esteem, technology, outdoor learning and problem solving.<\/span><\/h2>\n

At the forest this all the children were fully engaged in a range of play experiences. We had some children showing concern for the monster head that had somehow fallen over and was missing bits. They felt sorry for him so they helped to put him back together again. Another group was seen using their gross motor skills in using the rope swing to twist and turn to see who could do the most. We observed lots of tree climbing skills with discussions on\u00a0 being safe. They enjoyed a warm snack of beans and pitta bread, along with a drink of warm milk or water .One child then began to use sticks to drum, this then led to a music wall created using string and a selection of sticks, which resulted in a round of queen songs being sung.<\/p>\n

A few afternoons the children ventured down to the bottom garden using the space well, from climbing and exploring the loose parts,.<\/p>\n

Outside this week we have been observing lots of mark making using the chalk and water to create a range of lines\u00a0 and talking about directions, letters or numbers. In the mud kitchen they have been using\u00a0 a range of loose natural parts such as conkers, cones, leaves and lavender using skills to mix, weigh and to cut up the lavender. They then created a restaurant adding a till and money to extend their play learning.<\/p>\n

Inside we have also observed lots of children developing their own literacy and numeracy\u00a0 skills through a range of different experiences. We recently set up a small area linked to time. We added a clock a other time related resources for the children to explore.\u00a0 One child then helped to select some books to support their learning interest.<\/p>\n

The learning wall is still developing with an interest in shown this week in how the Octopus change change form, colour and texture. Lots of discussion arose from watching the video explaining and showing she children the different processes. This is now on display and we have now sent out a form and we are looking forward to seeing your responses to enable us to take forward.<\/p>\n
