Week beginning 11th November

We hope you have had a great week, here is a look at what we have been up to….

Children took part in a forest session in the bottom garden where they explored a lot of climbing, direction, forces and imaginative play. Children worked together to create a bed for the speed boat whilst others wanted to use the iPad to explore poses and other perspectives in the tree.

Children have been exploring their weaving skills as they use frames and ribbons to create a spooky house together.

Innes asked to search what the worlds fastest animal was with his peers but before we did that he guessed a cheetah as he had seen it on the TV. Innes matched the words from the wooden disc to the keyboard to login the computer in. After research we found out Innes was right and we also found out that the worlds slowest animal is the sloth.

Children joined in creating a bar graph based on the captain underpants book as they found out what everyone favourite underpants were. They guessed which would have the most, the least and who they thought might not get any votes at all.

Children have been using their mark making skills to draw outside using pens and card and they make their own designs and shapes.

Children have also been creative inside as they help with our Christmas enterprise activity by painting Christmas decorations and cutting out shapes using the clay. This sparked conversations around money and selling our items.

Children explored screen and film as they used props from a story box that linked to nursery rhymes and created their own stories as they used the stage to act these out together. The children also added loose parts to develop their ideas.

Reminders:

  • Nursery will be closed to children tomorrow (Friday 15th November) as it is in service day
  • please ensure your child had a spare change of clothes with them as well as wellies so they can enjoy some water play
  • Our peep group is on Thursday morning from just after drop off until 10:30 roughly for anyone who wanted to join

Have a lovely long weekend and we will see you next week! ☺️
