PEEP

Newport Primary School are proud to share that we regularly run PEEP sessions throughout the year for families to attend.

What is PEEP?

Parents Early Education Partnership

  • Promotes team work  and communication between Early Learning and Childcare establishments and home
  • Programme designed to value and appreciate parents as partners in education and to support parents and children learning together
  • The programme offers effective ways of helping parents and carers to improve their children’s life chances, by making the most of everyday learning opportunities – listening, talking, playing, singing and sharing books and stories together

What is a PEEP group?

  • A group of parents/carers along with their  children and a PEEP trained representative who will organise the session
  • An hour long session which will take place within nursery hours
  • The session will include activities which will support early learning.  Each week there will be a song, story, activity, discussion and homework!

Newport’s Vision …

  • Establish a PEEP group every term
  • Run for approximately 7 weeks
  • Will meet once a week for an hour
  • Looking for commitment from parents who will be able to come along every week and support their child in learning activities
  • Provide ideas and information to support your child’s learning
  • Term 4 PEEP group will have a transition focus– activities will include early number, early writing and environmental print
