Our School

Newport Primary School was built in the 1970s. It is situated in extensive grounds on the edge of Newport-on-Tay. It is a co-educational and non denominational school. The school building has 8 classrooms, a central hall area and office accommodation. There is also a 2 classroom hut situated in the playground. A nursery class is accommodated within the school building. In the playground there is a basketball court and seating. On the grassed area there is an area which can be utilised as a football pitch and there is also a substantial amount of play equipment.

Our aim at Newport is to provide a happy and safe environment where all pupils can reach their full potential. We value partnership with parents/carers and the local community. We are always pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspects of our school.

This session we have 7 classes and a nursery class. Newport has 1 school support assistant and 4 pupil support assistants. The support for learning teacher works 2.5 days per week supporting staff with a wide variety of pupil needs.

Newport has an active Parent Council and works well with the school offering support where and when required.
