Education Scotland leads and facilitates 3 national networks which provide opportunities to share practice, offer support, connect with others across the country to reduce professional isolation, receive national updates and access to specialist professional development opportunities.
-
National SCERTS Practitioner network
-
National Complex Needs Network (NCNN) – Practitioner
-
National Complex Needs Network (NCNN) – Strategic
The NCNN strategic group on Moderation has developed this piece of work.
Rationale and Aims
This resource aims to support all staff working within the ASN Sector to:
- Fully understand the process of moderation.
- Confidently make high quality assessments in collaboration with staff, partners and families.
- Link with others across localities
- Take an active part in moderation practice in their own setting.
- Support wider moderation processes leading to greater consistency across the school, local authority and beyond.
This resource will offer guidance and valuable information to assist staff with moderation at every stage of the Learning and Teaching Cycle, along with a template for provisions to develop a tailored resource for their specific setting.
This suggested template, found under ‘looking inwards’ has been created in partnership with teachers at all levels of leadership across several local authorities within Scotland and in consultation with the National Complex Needs Network and Education Scotland.
