Block Three (April – July 2026)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hello and welcome to the P7 school web page! We hope you had a lovely Easter break. This term is going to be a very busy and exciting one. We have lots to look forward to including our residential trip to Crieff, transition visits to the High School, Sports Day and our P7 Leavers Show, as well as lots of learning and revision to fit in between. Here is what we have planned for Block 3:<\/p>\n

Our Pathway of Promises and Branches of Brilliance:<\/p>\n

We are still following our school values of SAFE, READY and RESPECTFUL as well as our class charter and the promises we made to each other at the beginning of the school year.<\/p>\n

Topic:<\/p>\n

This block focuses on the exciting theme of World Sporting Events. Throughout the term, we will explore two major global competitions: the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games. Learners will engage in a wide range of lessons that connect across key areas of the curriculum, including Social Studies, Literacy, Numeracy, Health and Wellbeing, and Expressive Arts.<\/p>\n

As part of this topic, we will investigate different countries and cultures from around the world, developing a deeper understanding of global diversity and how sport can bring people together. We will also explore themes of equality and inclusion in sport, looking at how opportunities can differ and why it\u2019s important that everyone has a chance to take part.<\/p>\n

There will be opportunities to discuss mental health and wellbeing too, including how sport and physical activity can have a positive impact on how we feel, as well as the pressures athletes can sometimes face. Pupils will have opportunities to research, discuss, and present their learning in creative and meaningful ways, while also building important skills such as teamwork, communication, and critical thinking.<\/p>\n

Numeracy & Maths:<\/p>\n

This block will include some revision to help prepare for the move to high school, alongside learning in the following areas:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Decimals including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Angles, Symmetry & Transformation<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Time<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Measurement<\/p>\n

Literacy:<\/p>\n

We will be continuing \u201cWonder\u2019\u2019 by R. J. Palacio this term. We have been enjoying the novel and it has led to some great conversations about inclusion.<\/p>\n

In writing we will be creating:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Expositions (Persuasive Writing)<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Discussions<\/p>\n

Health & Wellbeing:<\/p>\n

At the start of the term, we\u2019ll be focusing on developing a growth mindset. This will help us build confidence and approach new challenges in a positive way, especially as we settle into the new term.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be learning how to see mistakes as part of the learning process, keep going when things feel difficult, and support each other to improve. This focus will help us become more resilient, motivated, and ready to face any challenges that come our way.<\/p>\n

RSHP<\/p>\n

This block we will be covering the following topics:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 My Body Now<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Menstruation<\/p>\n

\u00b7 How adults plan and prevent a pregnancy: contraception and condoms<\/p>\n

PE:<\/p>\n
