Here\u2019s what we have planned for the rest of the block\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Topic:<\/p>\n<p>Our topic this term is \u201cThe Unsinkable Ship: R.M.S. Titanic\u201d and there are lots of things we want to learn about. We will be going through the story of the Titanic learning about different aspects of the ship and its journey.<\/p>\n<p>Maths and Numeracy:<\/p>\n<p>This block, we will be covering multiplication, division, money, time and fractions. These will be learned through a combination of hands-on activities and written work.<\/p>\n<p>We will also be continuing to revise place value and the four operations each week.<\/p>\n<p>Literacy:<\/p>\n<p>Our current class novel is \u201cThe Titanic Detective Agency\u201d by Lindsay Littleson. We enjoy listening to this after break each day and will be using it to complete the literacy circle jobs \u2013 summariser, predictor, question master, illustrator and word wizard.<\/p>\n<p>In writing, we will be continuing to work on descriptions using VCOP strategies to help us uplevel our sentences. We will also have regular spelling and grammar lessons which can help with our writing too.<\/p>\n<p>We have reading groups every week and visit the library so we can choose a book to read for enjoyment.<\/p>\n<p>Health and Wellbeing<\/p>\n<p>This term we are doing a bit of work on emotions. We will also cover \u201cFeelings and Safety\u201d (P3s) and \u201cHow Human Life Begins, Pregnancy and Birth\u201d (P4s). We will also begin to look at \u201cSimilarity, Diversity and Respect\u201d as a whole class. More information on the specifics of these lessons can be found on the RSHP website &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/rshp.scot\/first-level\/\">https:\/\/rshp.scot\/first-level\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In P.E. we will be learning the skills associated with hockey, football and tennis. Our P.E. day is a Monday so children can come in P.E. kit on this day. This should not include football strips or crop tops.<\/p>\n<p>Homework<\/p>\n<p>Reading homework will be handed out on a Friday and is due back the following Wednesday.
