Their class teacher is Mr Cameron, supported by Mrs Herd, Miss Burns and Miss Bryson. On Thursday afternoons, Mrs Ritchie will teach Music. Primary 1\/2 are a class committed to following our school values \u2013 Safe, Ready and Respectful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Block 2 \u2013 Numeracy\/Maths<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Primary 1 numeracy focus: recognising and forming numbers to 20 and beyond; manipulating numbers within 20 through adding, subtracting, sorting and ordering.<\/li>\n<li>Primary 2 numeracy focus: continuing work on place value, number structure, and addition and subtraction within 100.<\/li>\n<li>Data Handling<\/li>\n<li>Measure<\/li>\n<li>Money recap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Block 2 \u2013 Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Primary 1 literacy focus: Phase 2 of the Jolly Phonics programme, introduction to new tricky words and spelling rules, learning letter names, and beginning guided writing and reading groups.<\/li>\n<li>Primary 2 literacy focus: continuing spelling and grammar through the Jolly Grammar programme, and learning to ask questions and express opinions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Block 2 \u2013 Topic<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Class topic: \u201cThe Magic Castle\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Block 2 \u2013 RSHP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence\u2019s Health and Wellbeing strand, children in P1\/2 will also be learning about Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood. This block covers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our families<\/li>\n<li>My body<\/li>\n<li>My body belongs to me<\/li>\n<li>Personal space and privacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will be using the national resource available at https:\/\/rshp.scot..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gym Days<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuesday gym day: children should come dressed in their gym kit for the full day.<\/li>\n<li>Highland Dancing taster sessions on Wednesday 4th and 11th March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homework schedule: sent home every Friday evening and returned the following Wednesday morning.
