Intergenerational Learning at Methilhaven Nursery
At Methilhaven Nursery, we believe in the power of connection across generations. Our intergenerational learning approach brings together children and older adults in meaningful, enriching experiences that foster empathy, respect, and a sense of community.
Through regular visits to Methilhaven Home and the surrounding Care Village complex the children build special friendships with older members of the community learning valuable life skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them. These interactions not only support children’s social and emotional development but also bring joy and purpose to our older friends, creating a truly reciprocal and heart warming bond.
Our children enjoy weekly planned and spontaneous sessions – engaging in activities such as baking, board games, story sessions, crafts and garden games!
