These include the use of a dictionary, thesaurus, spell checker or reference book.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READING:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are developing decision making skills by reading information from various sources. We should be able to explain our preferences for a particular type of text, author or source.<\/p>\n<p>We are developing our awareness of the techniques writers use to influence us.<\/p>\n<p>We will use Mr Men books and a class novel to develop the above skills.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>LISTENING &amp; TALKING<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>We will use our presentation skills to deliver a talk of appropriate detail and length.<\/p>\n<p>We are working on talking clearly, audibly, at an appropriate pace and occasionally varying the tone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td width=\"301\"><strong>Numeracy and Mathematics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>NUMERACY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will continue to work on money and finance, using our numeracy strategies and knowledge of decimals and percentages. There will be a focus on budgeting, introducing the concept of profit and loss.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATHEMATICS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will focus on information handling, using graphs, charts and tables to analyse data. We will link technology to this, using spreadsheets to gather data of our own.<\/p>\n<p>We will also cover measurement, using real-life scenarios to solve problems involving length, weight and volume and applying our knowledge of decimals to convert between different units of measure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"301\"><strong>\u00a0Health and Wellbeing <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>P.E.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will work on movement and balance through gymnastics skills and the creation of a sequence of movements.
